Internships
Students participate in a six-month (six credit hours) internship during the last semester and first summer term of the MBAS program, completing the degree by July 1st. An internship brochure is developed for the use of the students and the Advisory Board. Each student’s resume, picture, and personal statements are featured. Interviews are held on campus.
The UNC Charlotte MBAS Advisory Board has provided a variety of paid internships. Students have worked as interns with Victory Junction, Charlotte Bobcats, the US National Whitewater Center, NASCAR, the NASCAR Hall of Fame (located in Charlotte), a sports attorney, and others. The Director works with each student to find an internship that meets his or her career goals.
The internship occurs at the end of the program after students have completed all of their coursework so as to provide the greatest benefit for both the internship employer and the student. The strategic timing of the internship creates an opportunity for students to make a contribution for their employer that will assist in the student’s transition to full-time employment.
