MBAS Program Scholarships

The MBA Enhancement scholarship program was established in 2005 to attract high quality candidates to the UNC Charlotte MBA and MBAS Program. Each academic year, the MBAS Office awards Enhancement Scholarships to new students entering the program.

Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit (previous undergraduate and/or graduate GPA and GMAT score) and/or financial need. Award amounts will vary, and may range from a small stipend to 50 percent of the student’s annual tuition and fees.

Some MBA Enhancement Scholarship awards are based on merit only, without consideration of the student’s financial need, while other awards are based on a combination of merit and need. Where need is a consideration, students are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For information on the FAFSA or to apply online, visit the UNC Charlotte Student Financial Aid Office website.

To be considered for an MBA Enhancement Scholarship, students must submit an MBA Enhancement Scholarship Application to the MBA Office by June 1.

A limited amount of funds will be available for students who are admitted for the spring semester. Students applying for spring admission must submit an MBA Enhancement Scholarship Application to the MBA Office by December 1.

GMAT Preparation Scholarships

The UNC Charlotte MBA program is partnering with the National Black MBA Association and The Princeton Review to offer scholarships for Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) preparation courses.

The goal of the scholarship program is to assist high-potential candidates whose backgrounds are traditionally underrepresented in MBA programs.

The scholarships, valued as high as $1250, will cover GMAT preparation courses offered at The Princeton Review’s centers in uptown and the Arboretum area in south Charlotte. Course schedules are available at www.princetonreview.com.

Students who wish to apply for the scholarships must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. They also must apply for admission to the UNC Charlotte MBAS program prior to applying for the scholarship. In addition, applicants are asked to submit their results from the "free GMAT practice test" which can be taken online at www.princetonreview.com.

Preference will be given to applicants with an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, professional work experience, as well as to candidates from underrepresented groups.

To apply, please fax the application below to the MBA Office at 704.687.2809.
